Local and regional parks, trails, and natural areas are critically important to Minnesota's communities and citizens. Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails (GMPT) brings together counties, cities, parks groups, businesses, and individuals from throughout our state who are committed to building and strengthening outdoor recreation in Greater Minnesota.

Since our founding in 2010,  Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails has served as a relentless voice for regional and local parks and trails located outside the Twin Cities metro area. 

Our members include more than 140 local governments, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals dedicated to enhancing outdoor recreation opportunities for Greater Minnesotans.

GMPT advocates each year to help fund regional parks and trails in Greater Minnesota, both through the Legacy Amendment and other state and federal funding sources.
