GMPT Summer Meeting (July 29, 2026)

You're invited to join Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails' (GMPT) for our 2026 Summer Meeting on Wednesday, July 29! This annual event will be held at Kensington Runestone Park (8965 County Rd 103 SW Kensington, MN 56343) with events beginning at 10:00 a.m.

We’ve got a great agenda lined up! GMPT lobbyist Elizabeth Wefel will provide a recap of the ups and downs of this past legislative session, highlighting the progress made in parks and trails policy and programs. Then attendees will hear an update from the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks & Trails Commission (GMRPTC) and get a chance to have a fireside chat with legislators. The event agenda will also include a special presentation from the Little Bellas organization about women in mountain biking and a discussion on trail development and maintenance.

Thought that was enough excitement? Not even close! As is tradition, we will cap off the day with an immersive tour of the event’s host facility, Kensington Runestone Park. As a bonus, after the tour, members are invited to join us for a low-key mountain bike ride on Runestone Park's lovely, easy-to-ride bike trails. Bring your own bike or borrow one from the park - just let us know if you need a bike when you register.

This year’s Summer Meeting is sure to be a blast, so sign up today!

The $38 registration fee includes coffee and lunch for those attending in person. Please register in advance to ensure we have enough food and space for everyone.

If you have any questions about this year's Summer Membership Meeting or future GMPT events, please email us at greatermnparkstrails@gmail.com.
